We are back!
Are you ready for our 10th edition?
In this year’s edition of Coimbra Space Summer School, our focus is on solar radiation storms. Solar radiation storms are events that occur when a large-scale magnetic eruption accelerates charged particles in the solar atmosphere at very high velocities. When these charged particles reach the earth’s magnetosphere, a geomagnetic storm happens, causing temporary disturbances of this magnetic layer, therefore impacting our safety, and functioning, as a (technological) society.
During these three days, you are going to face a few challenges and meet experts from different areas.
This blog aims to publish information, news, and articles related to this year’s topic, fostering discussions and generating ideas.
